After about eighteen hours of intensive negotiations, the employers’ association in North Germany Nordmetall and IG Metall union Küste together with the employers’ association in Bavaria vbm and IG Metall union Bayern reached a pilot agreement on November 12 in Hamburg during the fourth negotiation round. The pilot agreement is applied in the Northern and Bavarian collective bargaining area and has been taken over by all other collective bargaining areas in Germany. It will apply for about four million workers.
